Cairo, Egypt (Day 02) https://injoyandsorrow.com/2016/cairo-egypt-02/ Sun, 03 Jul 2016 19:34:17 +0000 http://injoyandsorrow.com/?p=451 Our second day in Cairo, we decided to explore the city and hit up the markets. We got suckered in to a impromptu tour from a local, but we got to see a mosque, and where the locals shop.

Cairo, Egypt (Day 01) https://injoyandsorrow.com/2016/cairo-egypt-01/ Sat, 02 Jul 2016 19:40:26 +0000 http://injoyandsorrow.com/?p=430 We arrived in Cairo very early in the morning coming from the cold in the Netherlands to hot and humid in Egypt. After we got through our expedited customs and got our bags, then we were off in a Benz to the Conrad Cairo Hotel. It was a beautiful late morning when we awoke so we just relaxed for the rest of the day enjoying what we could while staying close to the hotel.

Arequipa, Peru https://injoyandsorrow.com/2015/arequipa-peru/ Sat, 24 Oct 2015 20:37:12 +0000 http://injoyandsorrow.com/manage/?p=75 With little sleep we got off the plane in Arequipa, Peru straight into a tour around the city. It was a fun adventure the first day seeing all the terraces on the first real day out and about. After seeing some of the city and one of the squares, we did a quick stop to drop off our luggage at the hotel and then go find something to eat. Our tour guide, who we couldn’t remember his name, guided us to food before continuing the rest of the tour. We did meet a girl named Yvette while sitting at the restaurant.

Lima, Peru https://injoyandsorrow.com/2015/lima-peru/ Fri, 23 Oct 2015 16:48:45 +0000 http://injoyandsorrow.com/manage/?p=1 We left Jackson at around 1 with a pass though Atlanta on our way to Lima, Peru. After a 6+ hour flight we landed in Lima and after many lines we made it to get our luggage which took longer than the other lines. But after they arrived we put them on the scanner on the way out. We exited and were met by Emma Rasmus our trip planner. As I walked outside I realized that when Emma said our hotel was close I didn’t know she meant on the other side of the street from where we walked out of the airport terminal.

Emma got is checked in, brought us and extra copy of our itinerary and went over it with us in much detail. She left and we went in to our room… Nothing special “airport hotel” but from being up from 4:30am the night before and already getting to 1am the next. Soon after we went to bed closer to 2am.

We boarded our flight to Arequipa… I have been looking out the window at all the mountains and villages or towns they lay between them… Just amazing!
